Starting My Journey at the University of Edinburgh

Beginning my studies in Theoretical Physics at the University of Edinburgh is both exciting and a little overwhelming. It feels like the start of a completely new chapter filled with physics, new people, new ideas and many things still to discover.

Starting My Journey at the University of Edinburgh

Starting university has always felt like something far away in the future, but now it is finally real. I have officially begun studying Theoretical Physics at the University of Edinburgh, and it is difficult to describe the mixture of excitement, curiosity and nervousness that comes with it.

Moving to a new city and entering a completely different academic environment already feels like a major change. Edinburgh itself makes the experience even more special. It is a city full of history, science, students and places to explore, and I am looking forward to discovering much more of it over the coming months.

A New Academic Chapter

The part I am most excited about is finally being able to study physics at a deeper level. Theoretical Physics combines many of the things that have interested me for years: fundamental questions about the universe, mathematics, problem solving and the challenge of understanding how nature works at its most basic level.

I know that university physics will be much more demanding than anything I have studied before. There will be difficult lectures, long problem sets and probably many moments when an equation seems impossible at first. But that is also one of the reasons I am excited to begin.

The best part of science is not already knowing the answer, but having the opportunity to search for it.

More Than Just Physics

Starting university is not only about lectures and exams. It is also about meeting people from different backgrounds, becoming more independent, joining new activities and discovering interests that I may not even know I have yet.

I want to make the most of these years, both academically and personally. I hope to take part in scientific projects, improve my programming and mathematical skills, explore areas such as quantum mechanics and astrophysics, and continue working on creative and technical projects outside the classroom.

Looking Forward

At the moment, everything still feels new. There are new buildings, new routines, new classmates and many things to learn about university life itself. That uncertainty is part of the excitement.

I do not know exactly where this journey will lead, and I think that is what makes it interesting. For now, I am simply excited to be here, ready to learn, explore and see where physics takes me.
